We used to carry another line of soy wax candles, made by an outside vendor. Many of our customers loved them, but the scents made no sense (!) because they didn't fit into our collection at all and were made with mostly artificial fragrance, to which I am allergic, so I was always sneezing when exposed to them, which made selling them a challenge in the, um, credibility department. "Yes madam, these candles are [snot-spewing sneeze] fabulous!"

So we decided to do our own line, in our own scents, as we should have done from the start, but couldn't, because we had other fish to fry at the time, like were we going to be able to pay the electric bill. And the natural scents aren't as overpowering, but we generally tend to prefer things on the subtle side. Since having been introduced in the store in July, they've sold quite briskly, so we figure we must be doing something right.

People who like them 1) are happy to have an easy way to enjoy their favorite nancy boy room scent 2) are surprised by how long the candles last 3) are happy they don’t create smoke/soot

People who didn’t like them 1) thought the scents weren't strong enough 2) didn’t trim the candle wick after each burn, so the flame burned too big and the candle didn’t last as long as claimed
