In the store, it’s fun to see the kinds of people who like certain kinds of products most. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, but when it comes to this body wash, I swear it’s often the most demure and reserved people who just go ape for it. I imagine what it’s like when they get in the shower and totally let loose—that whole stereotype of the librarian letting her hair down—and love the idea that we get to have any part in that freedom-inducing process. There’s also a whole contingent of guys who love nothing better than to explain, in meticulous detail, exactly what happens to their nether regions when they use it. We did months of pre-release testing and some of the early formulations were about 20 times too strong, and consequently I sometimes daydream about, um, slipping them a bottle from one of those early batches.

People who like it say 1) the tingly feeling is something they look forward to every day, that it wakes them up and gets them ready for the day 2) that it cleans their skin thoroughly without drying it out 3) that they love the clean minty scent
