Who knew this would be the product that would put us on the map and introduce so many of our (now) long-term customers, to our entire product line? Not us. We were just tired of going in to work so often with those little pieces of Kleenex adhering to creepy blotches of dried chin blood. Then this crazy subculture of guys who shave, it seems, for a living, and used nothing but pedigreed preparations from England, brands with Royal Warrants peddled at $40+ per jar, somehow found about us. (They tend to be a little, um, traditional, so something called Nancy Boy from fruits-and-nuts San Francisco wasn't something they were just going to stumble across.) Turns out these guys didn't just go ape over our shave stuff--they've turned into our very best customers, across almost every product category (except, for some reason, the t-shirts and baseball caps).

But these guys are used to dealing with a cream like ours--that's all they use (or shave soaps, but don't even get me started), plus many of them shave with brushes. Other folks (like me at first) have been unsure about how to shave with a cream like this because it looks different from the gels and foams we were trained on. The only real difference, though, is how much more incredibly comfortable and smooth the shave is.

USAGE INSTRUCTIONS: Just scoop out a small amount with your fingers, a dollop about the size of a walnut, and spread it on your beard (which you've prepared by splashing some hot water on it or soaking it with a hot towel--also, you want to leave your beard area very moist before applying the cream). A little bit of cream goes a very long way, so make sure to massage the cream in with your fingers, spreading it around as you go. The cream won't radically build up in volume like a gel, but it will lather up a bit and spread. Add cream (if necessary) to cover your beard, then shave, using lots of hot water to clear the razor as you go. When you're done, you should notice a clear difference in how your skin feels--smooth, soft and without irritation. If you have a real problem beard, you might also want to check out our pre-shave oil. If you do want to go crazy nuts and explore using a brush, I'm not the man to help. But on online shaving forum like badgerandblade.com or shavemyface.com will provide more information than you could ever imagine or desire on all things shaving.

People who like it say 1) it gives them the closest, most comfortable shave they’ve ever had 2) they don’t get cuts, nicks or razor bumps anymore 3) like how their skin feels soft and moisturized after they shave 4) love the natural, “not-too-strong” scent

People who didn’t like it 1) prefer a gel or a foam
