Salt is also what’s used in a water softener to, yup, soften the water. I used to travel a lot for work and my most hated trips were sales meetings. Well, I was in advertising and it was silly for me to fly to sales meetings when I didn't have anything to do once I arrived, so there was that. But the worst parts, bar none, occurred when the conversation inevitably turned to the much-anticipated-by-everyone-except-one-terrified-queen outings to Hooters (there was ALWAYS a Hooters in the city where the meeting was held--I think it was a pre-requisite). At that moment, to give me courage, I'd edge slowly out of the luridly carpeted ballroom, race up to my room and snort vast quantities of things up my nose that can't be written about in polite company.
Why am I telling you this, you may wonder, and quite rightly so. Well it would have been so much healthier for everyone concerned had I simply been honest and said, "Guys, have yourselves a ball. I'm going to take a bath, something I love possibly as much as you do large breasts" and repaired to my room to soak for at least an hour in scented reverie.

The Dead Sea’s salt concentration is 33%, 10 times greater than the ocean. Also, Dead Sea salt is uniquely constituted—chemically composed unlike any other salt in the world—which is why people have sought it out for so long. Even though an important function of this salt scrub is to exfoliate dead, yecchy skin from the body, our scrub also hydrates the tender skin underneath. We start with high-grade spa quality salts and unlike low-end products, we add a good helping of ultra-refined shea butter, topped off with jojoba, sweet almond and sunflower oils. As the salt sloughs off the dead skin cells from the topmost dermal layer, the shea butter and rich plant oils nourish and protect the tender skin layer beneath. One of the most relaxing, pleasurable ways to deeply moisturize your skin from neck to toes is to take a hot bath with bath oil. The only way this works, though, is if the oil is ultra-high grade plant oil, not mineral oil. Mineral oil comes from rocks—it’s the same stuff our cars run on, and won’t effectively penetrate your skin (not that you’d really want it to). Premium plant oil, the only kind we use, comes from wondrously lush living things like jojoba, sweet almonds and sunflowers. As you bathe and the warm water gently opens your pores, it soaks into your skin, just like a hot oil treatment works on your hair. So that’s the great news for your skin.
