This product is a throwback to when a man was shaved each day at his barbershop. Applying a thin layer of oil prior to shaving softens the beard and lubricates the skin so thoroughly that the razor can't chafe or burn the skin. It simply glides, providing the closest shave possible. The need for extra lubrication was greatest then because barbers used straight-edged razors, you know, like in those gangster movies when the guy would be all wrapped up in towels and then get whacked.
Nothing lubricates better than the lightest, all-natural, high-grade botanical oils like kukui, meadowfoam, borage and sweet almond in our pre-shave. As you shave, the oil and cream are lifted away, so there's no residual oily feeling. Your skin just feels amazingly soft, smooth and conditioned. And the shave is smooth and sweet, like skiing in virgin powder. As good or better than the traditional British brands like Truefitt and Hill, which charge $30 for 2oz and don't offer our subtly sexy signature scent.
2oz/59ml
Usage InstructionsWash your face, or steam it with a hot towel or douse it with warm-to-hot water first. Your skin should be wet prior to applying the oil. Put a very small amount of oil in your palm (you can always add more) and rub your palms together, then apply to your face, massaging it on briskly, which is important because this massage will raise the whiskers in preparation for shaving. Then apply shave cream on top of the oil. If you're using a brush, make sure to lather the cream in a bowl rather than on your face--you don't want the brush to break the oil/cream barrier on your skin. If using your fingers, as we do, scoop out a small amount of shave cream with your fingers and spread it around your face, again massaging briskly so that you can spread it around. Add as much you need to cover your beard. As you shave, the cream and the oil will be lifted from your face, so there won't be an oily residue. You can use after-shave and/or moisturize as you wish.

People who like itsay it "guarantees the closest possible shave--every time," that it "radically" cuts down on razor burn and ingrown problems even among those with lifelong problems, that ours is better "because of the oil quality and the scent."
People who didn't like itdon't like the hassle, don't like the idea of applying oil to their skin, didn't notice a big enough difference to warrant spending the extra money.
