I grew up using Dial (“Aren’t you glad you use Dial? Don’t you wish everybody did?”) and when I was in advertising, worked on Tone soap (“Bye bye dry, I’m giving Tone a try!”), which was made by Dial. Its big selling point was it had cocoa butter but it never really reached the heights of, say, Caress (“Don’t just dress—Caress!) Then when I got older I searched for an everyday soap that didn’t dry out my skin or make me smell like, I don’t know, an artificial fragrance chemistry lab, but we don’t seem to have high-quality everyday soaps here like they do in Europe. This yawning gap inspired us to create our line of bar soaps that are so superior to what’s available at the drug store or supermarket, you can’t even compare them. (If you do, I probably won’t speak to you ever again).

REPLENISHING is one of our two newest varieties, added by popular demand to complement our line of Replenishing cucumber-scented products. It's fresh and clean, because it's made only with real steam-distilled cucumber essence. Try it--it's indescribably awesome.

INVIGORATING is our other new blend, a tingly wake-up call of pure peppermint and spearmint essential oils. It's refreshing and lively, perfect for folks who need a little extra oomph to get going. Jack's favorite.

SIGNATURE is our most popular scent. French lavender makes it calming and restorative, but the Washington peppermint and Tunisian rosemary give it clean, fresh, bracing notes to which both men and women are drawn.

SWEETGRASS is our most complex scent, in which we balance the springlike freshness of Italian lemon and Indian lemongrass with the woodsiness of Moroccan cedar and finish with a light note of rose geranium from China. It’s an aromatic scent that recalls a perfect summer evening—lush, romantic, enveloping.

TEA ROSE is floral with a twist, in that it’s far lighter and more balanced than other florals. The addition of costly Brazilian rosewood adds pleasing depth, while real green tea from Japan conjures crisp, clean notes of spring. To cut to the chase, it's like fresh-mown heaven and not at all, um, girly. (And we would know.)

SPA is our second best-selling variety, after Signature. Composed of Australian eucalyptus, lemon and mint, it's so clean, refreshing and lively, you might find it difficult to leave the shower.

People who like our bar soap say 1) it lathers great, smells “awesome” and leaves skin feeling soft, smooth and moisturized rather than dry 2) the scent is “just right” while you’re using it but doesn’t cling to the skin

People who didn’t like it 1) want a more strongly-scented soap/a scent that clings to your skin for most of the day
