This mask is formulated especially for drier or more sensitive complexions and is gentle, soothing and emollient. Reading the ingredient list is a virtual walk-through of the Swiss apothecary that supplies Gstaad's top spas.
Camelina, rarely used in masks due to its prohibitive cost, is particularly high in linolenic and A-linolenic acid, both associated with improved skin elasticity. Colloidal oatmeal is 12.5% protein/8.5% fat and is a pharmaceutical grade oat flour that works to soothe, hydrate and calm dry or irritated skin; rosehip oil has natural antioxidant properties, improves skin elasticity and reduces scarring and wrinkle formation.
This mask is especially appropriate for people whose skin flakes, chaps or reddens easily White Kaolin is the correct clay to use as a base in this mask because of its mild character that is non-irritating to sensitive skin. Also, unlike the Bentonite or French Green in our other masks, it doesn't draw or absorb from the skin as it wouldn't make sense to have an absorbing compound in a mask that's designed to impart moisture.
Its specific high-mineral content, including big doses of calcium, zinc and magnesium help make it naturally anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory. Usage InstructionsUse a mild facial cleanser or non-alcohol toner to wash your face. Then run a washcloth under warm water, wring it out and place it over your face so that it opens your pores to prepare them for the application of the mask. Next, gently splash warm water on your face, leaving it moist. Apply the mask, spreading it evenly and in a thin layer all over your face and neck, avoiding the eye areas. Sit somewhere comfortably, with your eyes closed, and relax for 15 – 20 minutes. Rinse off the mask with warm water, being careful not to get it in your eyes. Discontinue use if a rash develops.
