Something to note: the reason the glass container that comes with the kit is perfect for this application is that the neck is so slender -- it's basically only large enough for the reeds to fit through. So if you're thinking of just buying the oil and reeds and putting it all in another container, try to find one with a slender opening so dirt and insects don't land in the bottle.
